Health Education Committee
What the HEC!?
The Health Education Committee creates opportunities for people to learn from one another and stay connected to the evolving field of public health. Whether you are a student exploring career options, a recent graduate building your professional network, an experienced practitioner, or simply someone interested in public health, our educational programs provide a space to exchange ideas, discover new approaches, and learn about important work happening throughout Connecticut.
Our signature Lunch & Learn webinar series features experts and practitioners who share research, promising practices, innovative programs, and timely public health topics. There's generally one Lunch & Learn every other month or so.
Most webinars offer CHES/MCHES continuing education credits and our webinars are open to all.
Our Goal
The Health Education Committee believes that lifelong learning strengthens both the public health workforce and the communities we serve.
Our goal is to offer educational programs approximately every other month that:
- Address current and emerging public health issues
- Highlight evidence-based practices and innovative approaches
- Feature experts from diverse public health disciplines and sectors
- Provide opportunities for professional growth and continuing education
- Foster connections among public health professionals, students, and community partners
By combining practical learning opportunities with meaningful dialogue, we help create a stronger, more informed public health community across Connecticut.
The Health Education Committee Leadership Team
Guided by its co-chairs and committee members, the Health Education Committee brings together diverse perspectives and expertise to create timely, relevant learning opportunities for public health professionals and students.
